The ICS Honors Program provides ICS students with opportunities to engage in research by working with world-class ICS faculty on cutting-edge research projects.  ICS Honors students report their research results in a thesis, showcase their work at campus-level events such as the annual ICS Project Expo, and often publish their research findings at international conferences and/or journals.  For students interested in attending graduate school after receiving their bachelor’s degree, the ICS Honors Program offers workshops that introduce them to graduate programs, guide them through the graduate school application process, and prepare them to apply for graduate fellowships such as the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship.

Student Experience

A Taste of Research

Although I’m going into industry after graduation, I’m very glad that I joined the ICS Honors Program and got a taste of research. Undergraduate research opportunities are a privilege that we have as students at a research institution, and they can be a strong foundation no matter what lies beyond graduation. It’s a great chance to meet faculty and become familiar with interesting fields of work. 10 out of 10, would recommend.
