Second Baccalaureate in Software Engineering

The following minimum requirements must be complete prior to applying for a SE Second Baccalaureate:

  1. A GPA of at least 3.0 for the first bachelor’s degree.
  2. Completion of ICS 31, ICS 32, Math 2A, and Math 2B.
  3. Satisfactory completion of the lower-division writing requirement.
  4. A combined GPA of at least 3.0 and no grade lower than a “B” on all courses taken above.

*Please note that AP exam scores do NOT count toward the computing course criteria for admission. If you have credit for one or more of the required courses through an AP Exam, for example Math 2A or Math 2B,  know that you must take an additional mathematics course that will apply in the degree. Options for Software Engineering are: ICS 6B, ICS 6D, ICS 6N or Math 3A.

*Applicants that meet the minimum requirements are NOT guaranteed admission, but all applications will be given a comprehensive review.

Please check the UCI General Catalogue for course descriptions and prerequisite information.
