The Computer Science Ph.D. program offers students the opportunity to conduct groundbreaking research in virtually every core research area of computing under the direction of world-class faculty in the Computer Science Department, oftentimes in collaboration with faculty in other ICS departments and across UCI. With more than 250 students currently enrolled, it is the largest doctoral program on the UC Irvine campus. Its graduates have been on the forefront of the information technology revolution over the past half century, continuing on to faculty positions in academia, advanced research and development positions in industry and the government, or leadership positions in high-tech start-ups.
