Carter Butts

Carter Butts is a Chancellor’s Professor at University of California, Irvine with appointments in the Departments of Sociology, Statistics, Computer Science, and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He is a member of the UCI Institute for Mathematical Behavioral Sciences and the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit2), where he directs the Center for Networks and Relational Analysis. He is also PI of the Networks, Computation, and Social Dynamics Lab, where his research focuses on the development and application of computational, mathematical, and statistical techniques to problems involving social and biophysical networks, communication, and interaction dynamics.
