Fall 2024: ICS Course Restrictions

This timeline for ICS course restrictions updates is being provided to help students with planning during the open enrollment period.

It is highly recommended that students check this page periodically. The timeline will be followed for the most part, but course restrictions are subject to change, such as in the case of highly impacted courses where restrictions may be extended or adjusted at a time other than initially planned.

ICS Student Affairs reserves the right to adjust restrictions and the timeline at any time.

Important Notes:

Graduate students outside of the School of ICS must wait until 8:00am September 3, 2024 to enroll in ICS courses. No exceptions to this registration schedule will be made.
ICS Graduate Students who wish to enroll in a restricted ICS course may contact an ICS graduate counselor for assistance.
ICS Graduate Students wishing to enroll in an ICS undergraduate level course may send an email requesting authorization to ucounsel@uci.edu beginning September 16, 2024.
ICS Undergraduate Students seeking to take an ICS graduate level course and receives permission from the instructor may email gcounsel@ics.uci.edu for assistance beginning September 16, 2024.
ICS strictly enforces the campus’ Week 2 add/drop deadline. The add/drop deadline for Fall 2024 is 5:00pm, Friday, October 11, 2024.

9/3/24 School/Major restrictions lifted	12:00pm: WebReg re-opens for continuing registration ICS graduate level courses now open to all graduate students. Undergraduate majors may begin requesting permission to enroll in open, ICS graduate level courses. Send inquiries to gcounsel@uci.edu
9/16/24	5:00pm: Fee payment deadline for the Fall 2024 quarter Missing the fee payment deadline will result in your being dropped from Fall courses ICS Graduate Students wishing to enroll in an ICS undergraduate level course may send an email requesting authorization to ucounsel@uci.edu ICS Undergraduate Students seeking to take an ICS graduate level course and receives permission from the instructor may email gcounsel@ics.uci.edu for assistance.
9/18/24	12:00pm: WebReg re-opens for continuing registration
9/26/24 Fall 2024	First day of Fall quarter instruction.
10/11/24 Fall 2024 Week 2	5:00 pm: Add, Drop, Change Grade Option deadline Last day to add, drop, or change grade option in WebReg for any ICS course. Check your position in any waitlisted course(s), and be sure to drop if it is no longer needed/desired.
