NSF Student Travel Awards for US-based Students

We are pleased to announce the availability of student travel grants for US based students to attend the 10th ACM International Conference on Distributed and Event-Based Systems (DEBS 2016) to be held in Irvine, California from June 20th-24th, 2016 . This award is sponsored by the US National Science Foundation (NSF) and is available to assist full time students attending US colleges and universities defray the costs of attending the DEBS 2016 Conference and co-located events (Workshops, main conference, Ph.D. Forum etc.). Our goal is to encourage student participation at the conference and facilitate the grooming of future researchers in topics related to distributed and event-based systems. Interested students may apply. Underrepresented minority and women students from diverse US institutions are particularly encouraged to apply. Exceptional undergraduate research students and young post-doctoral researchers may also be considered for support on a case-by-case basis. Students receiving the travel grants will be expected to present a poster on a research work they performed in a related research, taking place on Tuesday, Just 21, 2016.
To be eligible, applications must be submitted no later than June 17, 2016. Award decisions will be made on June 18.
To apply for this travel support, you will need to submit the following:
- 1. A letter from your advisor/professor confirming that you are currently a research student in good standing and working in areas related to distributed and event-based systems.
- 2. A short personal statement describing your research interests, how you wish to benefit from attending DEBS 2016. Indicate your student status, if you will be presenting at the conference and location you will be traveling from.
- 3. A short CV (2 pages maximum)
