About Me
Hey! I'm a second year undergraduate student at the University of California, Irvine studying Computer Science and Engineering, and I'm currently conducting research advised by Yu Fei in the UCI NLP Group.
My primary research interest is in improving generation and reasoning capabilities of transformer-based LMs to improve output quality and accuracy. I'm also broadly interested in optimizing model inference and training at the edge compute level through hardware/software co-design.
Outside of studies, I enjoy lifting, running, and solving Rubik's Cubes. I also love exploring nature, specifically in the San Francisco Peninsula. More about my hobbies here.
I'm always open to chat! Feel free to reach me at apkantak [at] uci [dot] edu or at any of my socials linked in the footer.
