Using the zyBook before paying for it

NOTE: zyBooks has recently announced a policy that allows limited use of the ZyBook for a short period of time before you have to pay for it. This might be useful if you are on the waitlist, or if you are enrolled in the course but thinking of dropping, or for some other reason. Subscribing to the zyBook

Instructions for subscribing are included below. Please note the following:

When you are asked for an email address during the subscription process, it is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU USE YOUR UCI EMAIL ADDRESS. Click here to read why we recommend you use your UCI email address when subscribing to the class zyBook.

Sign in or create an account at learn.zybooks.com.
IF THE EMAIL ADDRESS ON YOUR ZYBOOK ACCOUNT DOES NOT END IN uci.edu, EITHER EDIT YOUR ZYBOOK ACCOUNT OR SET UP A NEW ONE.
Enter zyBook code: UCICOMPSCI161DillencourtSpring2026.
Check and recheck that
1. You entered the zyBook code correctly.
2. The email address on your zyBook account ends in uci.edu.
Subscribe.
