3.8 IGP
nThere are two routing protocols associated with IGP:
–Routing information protocol (RIP): vector distance
–Open shortest path first (OSPF): link state
nRIP is the oldest and is still being used. OSPF was introduced later because
it was felt that RIP would not able to handle the needs of the growing internet (not scalable).
