nFor a remote address
the IP address of the default router is used for
looking up a physical address. (IP routing table)
•The IP module will look up the IP address in the ARP cache. If it does not find an entry then it uses ARP to find
the physical address.
nThe ARP module will send a broadcast message asking for the
destination physical address. As all network devices
read broadcasts, the destination will read the request and
respond to the source with its physical address.
