FreeKibble Redesign
What?
A group project undertaken during my project course in Human-Computer Interactions.
This course's curriculum is based around creating a redesign of a product based on
user research, creating evidence-based redesigns, and heuristic evaluations.
This was an unsolicited redesign for FreeKibble.
Who?
A team of 5 students in the course.
My role was to collect survey responses, interview two users, and create sketches and hi-fi redesigns
and to evaluate the redesigns. I also created reports for each step and then compiled it into a final design report.
Why?
Study user-centered design principles and understand why certain practices are used when desiging a system.
Challenges
Working in a group has always brought up its difficulties and benefits. This group was very interesting as I had
to learn how to work with seniors that could care less about the work they did and juniors that would want to try
their best.
In terms of UX Challenges, this whole project was a redesign of a website in essentially 8 weeks. This was my first
time doing a full project with user research, documentation of my progress, and a redesign. It was a fast-paced
learning experience to say the least.

Solutions
Taking the chance to take up more responsibilities turned out to be a good thing. I became more of a leader without being
walked over. My voice was heard by my team members and respected. It also helped that we were able to make agreements
about work expectations at the beginning of the project as well.
To tackle the time challenge, my team would communicate well each week about the work we have done. We also had progress reports that we presented every other week.
Anyone that has been a student knows that 8 weeks can fly by before you know it. So it was important that we knew what we had
achieved. Addressing the fact that this was my first time doing a project of this scale, I had already learned about the required
skills in the previous course in this series. It took time to learn how to apply the skills but my team succeeded.
A high fidelity redesign done in Adobe XD.
