                                                                                        AWARD            GIRLS            SUPPORTERS

Supporters Role

Encouraging more young women to pursue their interests in computing is important for companies seeking to attract more female students. The NCWIT award applicants represent a rich source of young women who are highly qualified to enter a technical major and eventually the IT workforce. These young women who self-identify as being interested in a career in computing and IT are the “low hanging fruit.” Recognizing and encouraging their interest at this critical stage could be the catalyst that propels them into studying computer science in college and ultimately pursuing a career in computing and IT.

Sponsorship and Prizes for Award Recipients

Corporate sponsors add status to the award and help build public awareness of the importance of women’s contributions to the fields of computing and IT. We ask that partners endorse and publicize the award and invite you to the awards event to be held on May 11, 2013.

There are additional ways you can help and benefit from this program, such as:

  1. Offering internships to award winners

  2. Hosting a company tour or other event for award winners

  3. Underwriting/sponsoring the award event

  4. Providing prizes for the award winners (cash, SWAG, or other merchandise)

  5. Attending the awards event and showing support

  6. Distributing press releases and otherwise publicizing the award

We hope you will join us in building the pipeline of young women entering the computing and IT field.
