Subject: Zlate Weingarten-Miller From: "j.ledereich@yahoo.com"Date: Wed, Feb 13, 2019 7:27 am To: "moishe@langsam.com" Hello Mr. Miller While doing some research on the Weingarten family I came across your website which mentions Zlate Miller married to Marcus Weingarten which I believe was the brother of my great great grandmother Gittel Weingarten. As her name (Zlate) comes up in a tree drawn by a Weingarten descendant I am almost sure this is the same person. I was wondering 1) Do you have information regarding Zlates children if any of them survived the war and if yes who and where are the descendants And 2) Would you by any chance have more information about the Weingarten family, where they were from or what the name of the parents of Marcus were. Really any additional information would be great. Thank you so much in advance. Yocheved Gluck (Ledereich, my mother was a Krakauer. Ie. My greatgrandmother Ryfke Krakauer was a daughter of Gittel Weingarten (married to Israel Kaufman) Ps.ps. I live in Flatbush as well near Ocean Parkway and Foster Ave Sent from my Boost Mobile Phone. https://www.ics.uci.edu/~dan/genealogy/Miller/homemilr.htm See excerpt regarding Zlate Miller married to Gittel Weingartens brother
I wonder if there are any alive descendants from these children. ______________________________________________________ Subject: Fw: Zlate Weingarten-Miller From: "j.ledereich@yahoo.com"Date: Wed, Feb 13, 2019 8:52 am To: "moishe@langsam.com" Attach: Capture+_2019-02-13-08-52-13.png On second thought and looking over the tree again I believe I made a mistake in my assumptiom Marcus was Gittels brother. It appears that Marcus Weingarten and Zlate Miller were Gittels parents. I believe that Kasalin who you mention as Zlate's daughter is Gittel. Ps. Please see the tree drawn by Jacob Max Weingarten grandson of Gittel attached where you see that the siblings names are all the same as you mention. I would love to have more information about Zlate Miller and her family if you have any additional info. Thank you so much. ______________________________________________________ Subject: Re: Zlate Weingarten-Miller From: Jochewed LedereichDate: Mon, May 27, 2019 7:58 pm To: Hello Mr. Miller Thank you for your time and answering my email. Unfortunately I myself have not done any DNA but there is an extended cousin of mine which I believe he did do DNA. It was actually because of him that I received the tree that I sent you and eventually found your website. He also had found the same census from 1869 or 1857 and told me of the names of Gittel Weingarten siblings and how he thought they matched what we have from the tree. I have a couple of questions regarding the two census's the years of birth, for example by Kati/Katalin are not matching, how do you make sense of that? Also, on your website you mention another child called Herman, he does not seem to be on the census and also he is not listed on the tree I have. Where do you have the information about him from? As you can see from the tree Gittel Weingarten had 9 children. I can go on to write a long email of who married whom and they're children but it will take me a while to put it in writing. Ryfke Krakauer had 6 children, of which 4 survived the war. Chana, Zlata (Lotte), Avrum Chanoch, Josef Moshe. Zlata and Josef are still alive and living in Brooklyn Ny/ resp Josef is living partially in Allentown NJ. Zlata and Josef do not remember Gittel since they grew up in Berlin Germany although Josef claims he did see her in Poland. My mother has also told me that my grandmother Chana did talk about her being a beautiful women always sitting in her garden (she went to visit her cousins in Poland more often). The line that goes directly to me is from Ryfke Krakauer. So yes, to complete your question of the 7 generations: Yocheved Bracha Ledereich (born in Zurich, Switzerland 1982) married to Lipa Gluck (married Dec 4 2017 in NY) - generation 8: Chana Gluck born Nov 21 2018, daughter of Mina (Mindel) Krakauer (born in Zurich, Switzerland) married to Naftuli Alter Ledereich (married about 1978/1977 in NY), daughter of Chana Krakauer (born in Chzarnow/Sosnowiec, Poland Sept 18 1918- Nov 2015/Zurich) married to Josef Leib Krakauer (married in Davos, Switzerland 1950) daughter of Ryfke Weingarten (born 1888 in Galicia), married to Toivje Elazar Krakauer, daughter of Gittel Weingarten (married to Israel Kaufman), daughter of Zlate Miller, married to Mordechai Weingartern, daughter of Yakov Mylech Miller of Obrucna As a reference I am sending you the link to the Geni profile of Ryfka Krakauer entered by my brother and father. https://www.geni.com/people/Rivka-Krakauer/6000000009269381911 Please don't get confused about the last name Krakauer being used twice at my grandmother since my grandparents were first cousins (and so are my parents, since both my grandmothers Chana and Zlata are sisters) I hope this helps to further understand. I would also like to know where you come in at the Miller family. And again refer to my question if you have any further information as to the Weingarten family before Mordechai Weingarten. Thanks so much in advance With regards Yocheved Gluck-Ledereich ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________
