1. Duy Ngo is admitted to the PhD program in the Statistics Department at UCI. Duy is the first undergraduate student in our group moving from CSUF to UCI.

1. Reina Galvez, Antouneo Kassab, and Duy Ngo received a Certificate of Excellence in the 2012 Joint Mathematical Meetings in San Diego for their poster "A Multivariate Statistical Inference for the Analysis of Neuronal Spiking Rates."
   

1. Ombao and Shahbaba met with CSUF members on Thursday September 20 gave a joint talk on time series analysis and Bayesian methods. See page 7 of College of NSM newsletter (October 2012).
