Third Annual Battle of the Deans

On Oct. 9, 2025, Dean Marios Papaefthymiou from the Donald Bren School of Information & Computer Sciences led the ICS Dream Team in continuing their quest to defend UC Irvine’s trivia championship title at the third annual Battle of the Deans contest.

The ICS team took on new challenger Dean Ian Williamson and his team from The Paul Merage School of Business for a fun-filled evening of good-hearted competition at the Anthill Pub & Grille. Both deans shook hands at the beginning and end of the event and kept the friendly vibes flowing.

Cheered on by a crowd of alumni, colleagues, and a growing number of interested bystanders, ICS emerged victorious once again!

The team of ICS representatives included faculty, staff, and alumni, with question topics ranging from UC history, music genres, games and food.

It was a night of trivia, school spirit and friendly rivalry, with ICS bringing home the trophy once again and defending the title of UC Irvine Battle of the Deans champions. On to three-peating next year!
