Transfer & 2nd Baccalaureate Students

Sign Up Form requires the following:

1. Unofficial copy of your college transcripts (Required)
2. Copy of IGETC (optional) If you do not have an IGETC, you can ignore this section of the registration.
3. AP/IB Test Scores (optional)

Please note: 

• You will not be able to register prior to your chosen course registration date.
• You will see an “academic hold” on your Student Access account. This is normal and will automatically be removed prior to your registration date.

1. Watch the Transfer Online Orientation Video, which reviews UCI and ICS academic policies, provides an introduction to WebReg, and provides information on degree requirements.
2. Watch the “How to Navigate Schedule of Classes” and “How to Navigate WebReg” videos
3. Complete Canvas Modules. Students will receive an email when modules are available. We recommend you complete all modules by the start of Fall.

1. Submit all high school and college transcripts to UCI Admissions. July 1: Deadline to submit official transcripts to Admissions.
2. Submit all AP/IB/other exam scores to UCI Admissions. July 15: Deadline to submit official AP/IB/SAT test scores to Admissions.

An admissions hold may prevent you from registering for courses.

Log in to your UCI Applicant Portal to see messages about missing documents or to communicate with your Admissions Counselor. 

If the courses you have taken are currently listed on assist.org then you do not need to follow this process. To be eligible to submit your syllabi for review, you will need to have attended a 2-year or 4-year institution that does not have an official articulation agreement with UCI.  You will not receive automatic course credit for these courses. In order to be evaluated for course credit, you will need to submit a Syllabus Review Form for Incoming Students (form linked below).

Please note that we review ONLY computer science and math courses. General education courses and non-major courses will not be reviewed until Fall quarter begins.

Your syllabus needs to include the following:

1. Course Description
2. Weekly Topics
3. Student Learning Outcomes
4. Syllabus information
5. Breakdown of Grades

We will accept submissions from May 1st at 8 AM until August 16th at 5 PM. Students should ONLY submit ONE form per course requested for syllabus review.

Determine if you need to take the following ICS Credit by Exam (see under “Frequently Asked Questions)”. These exams are optional and only needed if you have prior knowledge in these areas: ICS 31 (Python) and ICS 45J (Java).

If so, take this exam at least 1 week before your registration date. Available Credit By Exam dates can be found on the  ICS Credit By Exam page.

UCI Writing Placement Portfolio is required for any student who does not have 1 full year of lower division college level writing. If you have an IGETC or completed two semesters of lower division writing at your previous college you do not need to submit this. Information can be found through the UCI Testing Center.

A recommended Fall schedule will be emailed to you around two days prior to your registration date. You can also refer to the UCI catalogue for information on major requirements.

• You will register for courses through Webreg on your own by referring to the Schedule of Classes for course codes/course information. If you have registration questions, we will have an optional virtual drop-in session from 10:00am-11:30am (PDT) on the day of your registration where you can speak to an academic advisor. Make sure you use your uci account to log into zoom. The link for the zoom drop-in session will be emailed to your uci.edu email 2 days prior to your course registration date. 
• All new students should be enrolling in 12-14 units. It is not recommended that you enroll in more during your first quarter.

All students are cleared to enroll in courses on their recommended schedule. If you are trying to enroll in a course that you meet the prerequisites for but have not been cleared please attend the virtual drop-in session or send us an email.
