Incoming 1st Year Domestic Students

Welcome to the School of ICS!

All incoming domestic 1st-year students must attend an in-person summer orientation.

This page contains information about tasks to complete before orientation, as well as important information about the orientation itself.

Additional information will be sent to your UCI email. Please check it frequently.

Required Pre-Orientation Tasks

Important Information about Orientation (SPOP)

Registration: You will be contacted by the Orientation Office for steps on registering for summer orientation.

During SPOP all students will:

  1. Select and register for Fall Quarter courses. Note: You will not be able to register for courses before your SPOP date.
  2. Learn more about ICS and the university as a whole.

Bring the following to your SPOP:

  1. UCInetID and password
  2. Personal Laptop (highly encouraged).

Hold on Record: Please note that all new students have an “academic hold” on their record. This is normal and will be removed during attendance at summer orientation.

Disability Services Center: The University of California, Irvine is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for all persons with permanent and temporary disabilities. Any student with a documented disability needing accommodations for the Summer Orientation Program should register for services through the Disability Services Center by applying online at dsc.uci.edu.

We will see you next in September at  Welcome Week.
