Enrollment Windows and Restrictions

Course Selection

Check that your academic plan is in sync with the ICS Course Offerings for the coming quarter.

Enrollment for Next Quarter

Week 5: Schedule of Classes is released for the next quarter

Week 6: ICS Prerequisite Clearing Requests due.

Week 7: Check Webreg for the date and time of your enrollment window

Review Enrollment Windows and Restrictions for ICS Courses. Make sure to mark dates on your calendar.

Weeks 8-10: Sign up for courses.

*Notify our office if you have any trouble enrolling.

Deadlines for Current Courses

All deadlines are on Fridays at 5pm. Applications for exceptions are on Student Access.

Week 1: Petition Deadline: Course Time Conflicts, Prerequisite Substitutions, and Excess Units
Week 2: Deadline to add/drop/change grade option without an exception. After week 2 you will need to submit an Enrollment Exception form.
Week 6: Final deadline to drop a course without a W.
Week 10: Final deadline at 5pm to change grade options for non-major courses or drop a course with a W.

Concurrent Enrollment – Division of Continuing Education

Additional Notes pertaining to DCE

The Donald Bren School of ICS enforces a strict add, drop, or change the grade option deadlines. Please refer to the DCE website for those deadlines.

Obtaining the instructor’s approval on the Concurrent Enrollment form does NOT mean that you will gain access to the course. The ICS Student Affairs Office has final approval as to who is allowed or is not allowed in their courses.
Prerequisites for each ICS course are strictly enforced.
If you no longer intend to enroll in a course, please inform the Division of Continuing Education immediately via email (dce-services@uci.edu) so that we may release the seat to another student in need.

If you experience problems while enrolling classes, do all of the following:

Go to the Schedule of Classes and read the comments for the class and the department.
Log into WebReg and try enrolling one more time.
Note what error message you are getting, and know what it means.
If the prerequisite of an ICS course is being fulfilled by a transfer course or a syllabus review, please check the Course Eligibilities on your Student Access. If the ICS course is not listed, you will need to submit an Online Prerequisite Clearing Request form for review.
If you still are having issues with enrolling in the course(s), please contact the ICS Undergraduate Student Affairs Office

Remember, if you are trying to add or drop a class after the Week 2 deadline, you do not use WebReg to do so; you must instead submit an Enrollment Exception Request through Student Access. Log in to your Student Access page to do this but know that there is no guarantee that an exception gets approved; each department on campus has its own policies for exception requests.
