Codazen, an innovator in creating elegantly engineered immersive digital experiences, has partnered with the University of California, Irvine on a capstone project for the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences (ICS). The project utilizes Codazen’s AI-driven Perception color-generation platform as part of an immersive interior design experience. Six-person student teams presented their projects at a special showcase held in Donald Bren Hall on March 17, 2025.
Dubbed Project Chroma, the initiative is focused on creating an interactive WebXR platform for real-time room customization and interior personalization. Students are provided with pre-built 3D room models, then use Perception to swap out color schemes to visualize how different colors feel in various virtual rooms including a living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.
“We are excited to collaborate with Codazen on a project that challenges our students to rethink digital interaction. This partnership allows our students to work on cutting-edge applications of 3D visualization and AI-driven color customization, bridging traditional web experiences with immersive design,” said Prof. Hadar Ziv, Faculty Director of the ICS Capstone Projects program at UC Irvine. “Codazen’s technical expertise and forward-thinking approach provide an ideal environment for our students to develop real-world solutions, preparing them for careers at the forefront of technology and user experience design.”
